Writers Block

So, I have been writing a lot of late. Scripts, and fiction, and other stuff, and it is a very strange process. Ideas pop into my head constantly, and I write little notes to myself. I like coming across them months down the line , seeing whether they were good ideas, or just a random synapse firing before I went to bed. These things happen more in the winter.

I rarely write much in the summer, it is too difficult to concentrate as there are lots of pretty ladies about , and I don’t want to be cooped up, staring at a VDU.  The winter however lets me focus, and brood and do all the douche bag things necessary to write.

Yet the blog has been tricky of late. When something like the Arizona shooting occurs, it rankles and I feel it needs commentary, but at the moment there seems little. I wanted to write about the changes brought in by the Tories regarding the NHS. But what impact could I have in the sea of commentators on such a thing? I love the NHS, it has kept my dad alive ever since he moved here, and the Tories, with their dream of full privatisation takes another step closer to us. The care my dad needs and receives takes a step further away.

I could write about the most ridiculous article I read since the previous time I had the misfortune to read the Daily Mail. Liz Jones’ piece on the murdered Joanna Yates might rank as one of the most misguided pieces of journalism in the history of the art.

I could try and write something interesting about Nick Clegg and Alarm Clock Britain, or the unrest in Tunisia, but to be honest, my brain is very much focussed on my current projects. So sorry for such a shite blog today.
