Sorry this will be a short blog, super busy. Today I came across the following quote from the portly songstress Adele.

“I'm mortified to have to pay 50%! [While] I use the NHS, I can't use public transport any more. Trains are always late, most state schools are shit, and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh? When I got my tax bill in from [the album] 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire."

Adele you massive dullard!! It is bad enough that your middle of the road emo-pop is being hailed as some birth of an iconic voice, but with statements like this you come across as nothing more than a whiney cow! Celebrities should just stay out of politics in my opinion, partial exemption for Jamie Oliver, who seems to have made an attempt to understand the social policies into which he interferes. But this is just crazy.

Tell you what, Adele, if you fancy swapping paying 50% on your eight million quid for paying a measly X% on the Y thousand I earn, just let me know and I'll happily switch places with you. (numbers redacted for obvious reasons!)

Sorry you don’t use public transport (we’ll ignore that you used to when you weren’t earning shed loads of cash), sorry you think that schools are shit. I am sure they appreciate being judged in their performance by someone who went to a performing arts school! Maybe you shouldn’t have gone to the BRIT SCHOOL which is a FREE (read paid by tax payers)  performing arts school. My heart bleeds for your tax bill!

Few things bother me more than the excessively rich moaning about how much tax they pay. Also, no one pays 50% on all their income, You are charged at 50 % on earnings ABOVE £150,000. The first £7475 is untaxed; the next 35 grand at 20%; the next lot up to 150 grand at 40. So Adele - to moan that youre paying is 50% on all of it is incorrect, selfish and stupid. Get your accountant to explain - or learn some basic maths. If you had gone to a proper school you may have learnt that. It's a 'problem' id love to have.

I can't believe quite how much disappears from my pay at the end of every month and I'm on X% (although after NI its more). Most of the country feels the same way when they get their pay slip. I don't see why Adele should be immune to this just because she’s famous and did some candle light BS at the Brits. She is nothing but an Alison Moyet tribute act anyway!
